High School Blues

Bitches.   [Mar. 26th, 2004 | 07:33 am]

"Yesterday in Science, kids threw paper balls at my head, and it was getting me to the verge of insanity, and the ONLY reason I wasn't joining in on the fun and throwing paper back at them was because....for idiotic reasons before, during homeroom, I just started crying. I missed Michael, I wanted to go home, I was sick of being in school and always being humiliated and trying to be treated like a piece of shit by people that don't even know me."

Just a hop, skip and a jump.

Ever throw yourself into hundreds of mini projects at one time and overwhelm yourself into not doing anything at all?

Me, too.

I'm trying to be organized but I'm having such a difficult time organizing my needs into channels of energy to accomplish the things I need and want to do. This blog has been one of those projects I wanted to keep up with to share with everyone. Facebook and Twitter has been meagerly maintained but slowly and surely...I make tidbits of progress, I guess. It's not enough to make me satisfied.

If I were a fan of myself, I'd be disappointed.

I have a lot of priorities to attend to, just like my fellow friends and family do - but I expect that with the amount of time I have outside of my full time job, I should be constructing beautiful gem-like masterpieces of art to share with people on the web. Inspiring from miles and miles away, staying in touch and sharing information at light-speed; that's what I'm talking about.

So I'm sorry if it's been literally months since an update. I'd like the gaps between communication to blog be a lot shorter than that. I want everyone that cares enough to read my blog to remain up-to-date and content with the frequencies that I intend to share.

All of this may have to do with the fact that my MC is in Pisces. I truly believe this. lol

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here's to another fresh start and having more reason to celebrate life and do awesome things! I'm so happy to have begun this adventure in creativity. One of the New Years Resolutions that I've made is to make sure that my blog and Facebook websites stay full of activity. As the seasons change, we grow. I'm happy to expand on that and give curious others an opportunity to peek in on what's going on in my own world - the good and the difficult.

Here's something I've concocted whilst being in a difficult situation of my own:

When times of difficulty emerge, I tend to look outward more than in. Though it is true that our answers and love and all things good are within our self, I find that we naturally look for advice before we turn and create our own. Personally, I enjoy seeking truth in what others have to say. I enjoy seeing the beauty in correlations between to people, things or places. I don't believe in coincidences, I believe that we are all connected. If we find that we are "stuck in a bind" - as we will all encounter throughout life - its interesting to see who we call upon for help, or who "just so happens" to show up in our lives again.

With that being said, I look forward to producing more material to put on the blog-site. Thank you for the support in reading. I hope you enjoy it!

Before we officially kick off the New Year...

It's been several weeks since I've updated the blog - my b. Most can agree that the holiday season is full of business and anxiety as well as family love and cheer. Can't forget to thank the periods of time when Mercury retrogrades, either - always there to remind you of the things we hope to never miss.

I decided to decorate this year. Celebrating my new life as a non-smoker of cigarettes and abiding by the rules of the everyday ebb and flow of life is quite liberating. I'm grateful for the awareness that I've been blessed with so far - shout outs to my biggest inspiration: Grandma & Grandpa and Annie & Celeste. They've inspired me to paint this picture. To my family and friends: I love you.

Creativity is something we all have within out heart and soul - you have to let it take you. It's your choice to follow it, however. I started a couple of "special projects" to keep me in touch with those I love and care about. Family and friends that have stood by me in times of need, been there for me when I needed a hand, etc.

I started with the "Grandparents Memory Book" as seen in Femino Family 2010. Many thanks to the author, Teri Harrison, for making that dream a possibility! We have since exchanged e-mails and she has asked me to use a part of my blog entry as a testimonial on her website! I was honored to say yes. Networking with other creative minds can be powerfully rewarding.

The second project was started around the same time. I had an old stationary set that I had bought at a local art supply shop and made some hand-made holiday cards. It felt so good to watch it all come together. It took a lot of time and energy. If you decide that this is a good idea for yourself, please make sure you square away enough time in advance to ensure that each card is thorough and just the way you intend it to be.

Before the glitter glue was added to cover up the tape seams.

I inserted a little "lucky" cheer into one of the cards by taping it to the back of the card. I, too, consider the number thirteen as a symbol of luck and positive affirmation. So I wrote a little poem on the back of the same lucky piece of paper that I pulled out of a hat at work when we were getting new seats assigned. Go me! So good, I had to share it. That went on the thirteenth card, btw. I had to be extra specific.

Punkin getting into the holiday spirit, per usual.

:D

And here were a couple of h y p n o t i q u 3'd photos that I've done recently. Most of them are on my Facebook LIKE page. I made it with the intention of other community artists to also post pictures, video, and any other forms of artistic media on the page. So far, I'm the only one posting. I'm keeping a positive outlook on this one, though. If I can inspire at least ONE other artist to share their expressions on my page, I'd be a happy camper. Earth signs like camping. Woot.

It's a mash up. One of my favorite college teachers wrote me that letter. I want to share that same message.

One of my personal faves. I love colors. I love love. I love us. I love art.

So...before we kick off the New Year, I just want to ask...

What have been some of the most memorable moments for YOU in 2010?

The Struggling Artist

I believe that the concept of a struggling artist comes from the idea to overcome the perceptions of those that look upon the ones that dared to try and expose the truth. Sylvia Plath was one of those people that took that chance. We look at her today and point out that her gift was writing. Yesterday it was looked at as the result of her illness. She was mocked by higher authorities for her portrayal of the Holocaust. She was pitied when those learned about her controversial suicide. She is one of my most favored inspirations.

As a woman of her time, what she expressed in her journals were thoughts not common of her existence. When we read them today, it seems petty compared to what we've seen nowadays.

The power of suppression has put a burden on artists such as Plath. What they spent their lives doing was struggling to "deal" with their "complexities" of their identity.

Artists that are now famed after their deaths, dared to be individuals. They exposed feelings so raw and personal in depth with the finest detail. Why? Because humans cannot deny truth and we will fight to find it when we begin to understand what it is. These poets, painters, novelists and musicians alike have one thing in common; to share the beauty of truth-a mutual understanding of life.

It makes you wonder why they were suppressed. Ironic how most famed artists known today were outcasts of their time; branded with illnesses and mental complexities ruled out by insanity. Luck of the draw? Highly unlikely.

These artists may have not realized it then, but they were ultimately setting a foundation for the enlightenment of humanity.

Tell a Story - Write a Book

What you did yesterday could easily turn into a royalties check; another source of income to add to your bad-ass list of cash-flow on your monthly budget sheet. So what are you waiting for? SHARE YOUR STORY!

A story of how an adventurous kitty with a troubled past finds his way  to a loving home.

I was having dinner with two good friends of mine one night when one of them brought up a golden point: "Look at all the little booklets they sell in the stored nowadays for like, a buck. Think about it, ONE dollar per book. A million books, with about 300,000 people in SW Florida, you're already a quarter to a million."

Well, I feel that it's the simple stats that motivate us to want to make to be the next example that we share together over the next dinner. We're here with a purpose and we're chock full of creative ability. Sure, not everyone wishes to pursue a life of study and growth and artistic endeavors - but for those that do, why not try it out?

Our President is supposedly trying to create more jobs for our country. Start by being the first to create your own job. :)

Femino Family 2010

I think every family should have one of these things.

Front Cover of the book. Quote says "did you really walk five miles to go to school?"

There's a store down the street from where I live called Manna. I go there frequently and every time I go, I always end up buying a book. This was one of them. I bought this right before "Grandparent's Day" and it caught my eye as it was on display at the time. I decided to use this book as a way to get all six of my grandparents children (Aunts and Uncles and mother) and ten cousins to be a part of preserving their fondest memories.

Interior of book with a letter to my grandparents.

Its important for me to make sure that my family's memories are part of the lineage that is left behind as our family continues to grow and prosper. I'm hoping this book will one day be viewed as an heirloom; long after I'm gone. :)

Interior of book/Chapter divider.

I emailed Aunts/Uncles/Mom about the project and requested that they send me back their OWN questions for grandma and grandpa/Mom and Dad. The fact that we are all contributing our own unique perspectives and inquiry makes the content more special.

Emails/follow up/intro to project.
And since everyone loves pictures, I sent those, too. I want them to see what it looks like before Grandma and Grandpa do; as this will be their Christmas present from me this year.
Emails/follow up/update with pics.

The final product: A book chock full of golden memories to be cherished forever by a family built on love!

VoilĂ !

My inspiration!
